Seasonal Beers

Throughout the year we produce a range of seasonal beers which we serve on cask at events we attend, and which may be available on cask from selected bars. The seasonal range for 2010 has included:

Comeragh Challenger 3.8%ABV

A traditional English-style bitter brewed using Challenger hops and Maris Otter malt. This was first presented at the All Ireland Craft Beer Festival in the RDS, Dublin in September 2012 and can currently be found on cask at festivals throughout Ireland. Bottle release due in May 2012, see more here.

Coffee and Oatmeal Stout 4.3%ABV

This was tested at the Winter and Cask ale festival in the Franciscan Well, Cork last February and the one cask made available sold out in the first evening! We then produced it again for the Waterford Festival of Food in April and served it at the Easter Beer Festival and Bloom 2011 and it was a big hit at all events!

Brewed using local oats from Flahavan's Mills in Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford with a good shot of espresso added to the fermentation tanks, the oats created a smooth, creamy stout that was balanced by the roasted and chocolate barley while the background earthy coffee flavours were imparted by the coffee. This stout is planned to be released in bottles in December 2011. Read more here.
